Congressional Digest to Offer BrightText™ Technology OnlineMedia Contacts:
Griff Thomas, Congressional Digest May 25, Washington, DC - Congressional Digest Corporation today announced a revolutionary new addition to its online presence: a technology that dynamically generates millions of versions of any written communication. BrightText, a product of ContextIT, creates recombinant, multi-branching text for e-mails and other communications. Subscribers to pro-and-con.org, the online arm of CDC, will be able to take advantage of this technology. Subscribers at universities, high schools, and libraries can now use BrightText™ to compose dynamic letters to decision-makers on issues of all kinds. These letters may be automatically loaded into an email program, or output to MS Word for printing and mailing. "By using BrightText™ technology we are able to offer a cutting-edge new tool to our customers," said Griff Thomas, Publisher of Congressional Digest. "Students not only learn activism and civic involvement by using a stimulating technology; they also see how sentences fit together and how ideas grow out of them. They're able to do this from anywhere, through their web browsers. Schools can also compose BrightTexts collaboratively in the classroom. It's a powerful tool both for teaching and for learning." Pro & Con online members will be able to take advantage of the technology when they log on to the Pro & Con Online home page: Each visitor sees one of more than 6 million versions of the same letter. When he or she moves the cursor over the letter's text, alternate phrases pop up that may be selected by clicking. The visitor may also insert a new word or phrase. Clicking the "Instant Rewrite" button causes the letter to rewrite itself automatically into one of the vast number of combinations. BrightText can be configured to allow total control for the user while offering endless flexibility for the writer. This same technology is helping citizens compose messages to members of Congress about public issues.
Who Uses BrightText? "We're excited that BrightText is now being offered to schools, universities, and libraries to help people communicate about issues which concern them," said David Wolpe, CEO of ContextIT. "Our partnership with Congressional Digest Corporation encourages young people to become more proactive and involved. People love feeling good about what they write."
